Tucson School for the Blind Gains State Approval to Enroll Public School Students

The Tucson School for the Blind (TSB), a private nonprofit institution, has received certification from the Arizona Education Department, allowing it to enroll students currently attending public schools. This approval enables students to access TSB's specialized services either part-time or full-time without paying tuition. The certification was granted after TSB educators met the required qualifications and the facility passed necessary inspections. Director Kate Scally Howell emphasized that this development will provide more students with quality care tailored to their specific needs, addressing gaps in support that may exist in public school settings.
