The Digital Leadership and Cyber Governance Association (DLCG), in collaboration with the National ICT Innovation Hub, has conducted a cybersecurity awareness training session tailored for visually impaired individuals. Building on previous sessions for the deaf community, this initiative emphasizes the importance of accessible digital safety education. The training addressed challenges such as identifying phishing scams that exploit screen readers and protecting privacy against audio eavesdropping. Elaine Kiconco, Cybersecurity Coordinator at DLCG, highlighted the necessity of inclusive communication in cybersecurity awareness. Florence Mukankusi, Communications Associate at the National ICT Innovation Hub, underscored the commitment to digital inclusion, ensuring that individuals with visual impairments can access information and skills to navigate online spaces safely. This initiative reflects a broader effort to make digital safety education accessible to all, regardless of physical abilities.
