Zain Kuwait and Be My Eyes Collaborate on New Service for Visual Assistance

In a groundbreaking move, Be My Eyes and Zain Kuwait have launched a Proof of Concept (POC) aimed at enhancing customer support accessibility for blind and low-vision users. Announced on October 19, 2026, the initiative is labeled as a first in the MENA region and utilizes Be My Eyes' innovative Service Stream technology.
New Support Solution
Service Stream allows customer service agents to provide live visual assistance directly through existing support channels. This means blind and low-vision customers can receive help without downloading the Be My Eyes app or creating an account. By simply contacting Zain support, customers can receive a secure link via text or email, enabling them to share a live video stream.
How It Works
The process begins when a Zain customer contacts support. If visual information is necessary, the agent sends a secure link to the customer's smartphone. Upon opening the link, the customer grants camera access, allowing the agent to view the issue in real time. This instant video connection facilitates accurate and immediate assistance, be it identifying device indicators or reading error messages.
Vision for Accessibility
Mike Buckley, CEO of Be My Eyes, expressed that the mission is to integrate visual support into everyday interactions. This initiative with Zain Kuwait aims to make the Be My Eyes services available beyond typical app use, facilitating more accessible support experiences.
Meshal Al-Kandari, Chief Commercial Officer at Zain Kuwait, emphasized that the project underscores their commitment to digital inclusivity. He noted the importance of innovation that removes barriers, especially for individuals with vision impairments, thereby enhancing independence and convenience.
Looking Ahead
This POC marks a significant evolution in customer support, broadening access to visual assistance and embedding it into naturally used channels. The collaboration reflects Zain's wider goal of fostering human-centered digital experiences that promote equal opportunities and easier connectivity.
