IAHA Establishes Global Working Group to Enhance Hearing Accessibility Standards
The International Association for Hearing Accessibility (IAHA) has launched a new working group to assess and improve hearing accessibility regulations worldwide. This initiative aims to identify areas for enhancement and coordinate with local stakeholders to expand access to assistive listening technologies. With over one billion people globally experiencing some degree of hearing difficulty, IAHA emphasizes the need for consistent implementation and enforcement of assistive listening system regulations. The working group includes representatives from user organizations, manufacturers, and industry bodies such as the European Federation of Hard of Hearing People (EFHOH), the European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (EHIMA), and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group.
