The Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind (FNSB) has raised concerns over the limited access of thousands of blind Nigerians to rehabilitation, education, assistive technology, and employment opportunities. During the FNSB’s 71st anniversary and Independence Dinner at the MUSON Centre in Lagos, Chairman of the Executive Council, Mrs. Arit Tunde-Imoyo, emphasized that blindness should not condemn individuals to a life of dependence or exclusion. She stressed that with appropriate training, support, and opportunities, persons with visual impairment can lead productive and independent lives. The society, established in 1955, continues to advocate for the empowerment and inclusion of blind individuals in Nigeria.
