The Vision Resource Center (VRC) in Cumberland County is commemorating Blindness Awareness Month this October with a series of community events aimed at amplifying the voices of individuals who are blind or visually impaired. The activities include a Community Town Hall, a World Sight Day Walk through Downtown Fayetteville, and a celebration recognizing Blind Americans Equality Day & White Cane Day. These events are designed to increase awareness, encourage inclusion, and foster a sense of community among residents. VRC also seeks volunteers to support their programs, offering opportunities for companionship, assistance during activities, and transportation support. Interested individuals can register to volunteer and become part of the VRC family.
