University of Rhode Island Seeks Participants for Surf Therapy Program for Youth with Visual Impairments

The University of Rhode Island (URI) is inviting young individuals with blindness or visual impairments to participate in a new pilot program focused on adaptive surfing. The Surf Therapy program, led by Associate Professor Emily Clapham, has been running since 2010 and has expanded to serve youth with visual impairments. The program aims to study the impact of surf therapy on participants, offering them an opportunity to engage in adaptive surfing activities at Narragansett Town Beach. URI is also seeking volunteers to assist with the program, emphasizing the positive outcomes observed over the past several years.
