Society for the Blind Announces Blindness Awareness Month in October

The Society for the Blind in Sacramento is encouraging local residents to honor Blindness Awareness Month throughout October by connecting individuals with vision loss to services that can help them gain the skills needed to stay independent and thrive. Executive Director Shari Roeseler emphasized that losing sight can be daunting and isolating, but with the right training, assistive tools, and community support, a vibrant new way of living is achievable. The nonprofit has been empowering individuals with low vision or blindness for over 70 years through innovative programs and services.
