PRIMA Retinal Implant Approved in Europe, Restores Sight in Seniors

Science Corp. has announced the European approval of PRIMA, a retinal implant designed to restore vision in individuals affected by geographic atrophy (GA) due to age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In clinical trials, 84% of participants regained the ability to read after receiving the implant. PRIMA functions by replacing damaged photoreceptors in the retina, transmitting visual information to the brain. This approval marks a significant advancement in assistive technology for the visually impaired community.
