Meta Distributes AI Glasses to Assist Blind Veterans
Source: WLWT
Meta has initiated a program to provide 130,000 artificial intelligence (AI) glasses to legally blind veterans across the United States. In partnership with the Blinded Veterans Association, Meta is distributing these devices to enhance daily life for veterans with visual impairments. The glasses are designed to assist with tasks such as reading printed text and recognizing objects, thereby promoting greater independence. Veterans like Charly Sapp, an 84-year-old Navy engineer who lost his sight approximately eight years ago, have expressed appreciation for the technology. Sapp noted the glasses' ability to read print as particularly beneficial. The Blinded Veterans Association encourages veterans who were unable to attend distribution events to contact the organization to obtain a pair of the AI glasses.
