The Louisiana Association for the Blind (L.A.B.) has inaugurated a new assistive technology center in Shreveport, marking a significant advancement for the blind and visually impaired community in Louisiana. The $4.8 million project, led by Hand Construction, transformed a former printing facility into a 14,000-square-foot hub equipped with the latest assistive technologies. The center aims to provide comprehensive services, including client assessments and training, to individuals of all ages, from infants to senior citizens. This expansion underscores L.A.B.'s commitment to enhancing independence and quality of life for those with vision impairments.
