Global Media Alliance (GMA) and Japan Motors have donated 60 white canes to the Ghana Blind Union (GBU) to support the mobility and welfare of visually impaired individuals. This initiative, coinciding with International White Cane Day, aims to empower GBU members to navigate their environments with greater confidence. The donation was funded through the 2026 Corporate Run, which allocated 25% of participant registration proceeds to assist visually impaired persons. Ernest Boateng, CEO of GMA, emphasized the company's commitment to inclusion, noting their history of supporting the GBU and introducing a blind news reader in Africa. Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Executive Director of Lakeside Estate, expressed solidarity with the union, assuring continued support from Japan Motors and GMA. Dr. Peter Obeng-Asamoah, Executive Director of GBU, appreciated the consistent partnership and commitment to inclusivity demonstrated by both companies. The Corporate Run has evolved into a platform that combines wellness with social impact, exemplified by this donation.
