Florida Division of Blind Services Celebrates 85 Years of Empowering Visually Impaired Floridians

The Florida Department of Education's Division of Blind Services is marking its 85th anniversary with a statewide celebration themed '85 Years of Impact and a Future Beyond Limits.' Throughout October 2026, the Division will host a five-city tour to honor over eight decades of empowering Floridians who are blind or visually impaired. The tour begins in Pensacola on October 2 and concludes in Fort Myers on October 29, bringing together clients, families, employers, partners, and community leaders to recognize past achievements and look forward to future initiatives. The celebrations will also include the grand reopening of the Career, Technology & Training Center and observance of White Cane Day.
