Mark Morad, a blind Egyptian entrepreneur, has developed ScribeMe, an AI-powered app that transforms a smartphone's camera into a real-time audio narrator for the visually impaired. The app enables users to experience wildlife, objects, and surrounding scenes through their phones. Mark began losing his vision in 2018 due to a rare optic nerve condition, and by late 2021, both he and his sister Karen were completely blind. ScribeMe was born out of their personal experiences and aims to provide greater independence to visually impaired individuals by offering real-time descriptions of their environment.
