ClearWay Mobility, founded by 17-year-old Mumbai student Jaiveer Talwar, has developed a smart attachment that adds obstacle detection to standard white canes used by visually impaired individuals. The device alerts users to obstacles through vibrations and optional audio feedback, enhancing mobility without requiring changes to existing canes or reliance on smartphones. The attachment prioritizes affordability, reliability, and ease of use. After successful testing at the Smt. Kamla Mehta Dadar School for the Blind in Mumbai, ClearWay has entered the manufacturing stage, with an initial batch being produced. The next phase will focus on refining the product through further user feedback and exploring scalable accessibility.
