Braillists Foundation Pauses Summer Sessions, Returns in September with Braille For Beginners

The Braillists Foundation is taking its usual summer break, pausing regular sessions for a few weeks to give volunteers time to recharge.

According to the Braillists Foundation, the last event of the term will be the Braille Bar on Tuesday, July 28. After that, the organization is stepping back from its regular programming until September.

What's Happening Over the Break

During August, Braillists volunteers won't be sitting idle. The organization says it will be supporting ICEVI (the International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment) and the World Blind Union, though the source material was cut off before detailing the specific nature of that support.

Return Date Set

Regular sessions pick back up on Tuesday, September 1, with Braille For Beginners, the group's introductory program for those new to reading and writing braille.

The break is a normal part of the Braillists Foundation's yearly calendar, giving the volunteers who run its braille bars, classes, and community sessions a chance to rest before the fall term begins.
