Bournemouth University has piloted a series of workshops aimed at helping visually impaired participants build skills in social media creation, enhancing their digital inclusion and wellbeing. The most recent workshop, held in Croydon on April 28, 2026, provided training on video editing software, sound recording equipment, and social media apps. This 18-month project, in collaboration with local charities like Croydon Vision, addresses the exclusion often faced by blind and visually impaired individuals, who are twice as likely to be negatively affected by equal rights issues compared to sighted people, according to the RNIB.
