Jim Alison, a 95-year-old veteran from Abergavenny, experienced the joy of driving again five years after being registered blind and surrendering his license. Participating in a charity event at Llandow Circuit in the Vale of Glamorgan, Jim drove alongside an instructor with dual controls, reaching speeds up to 55 mph. The event, designed to help people with disabilities experience driving, provided Jim with a sense of independence and exhilaration. Reflecting on the experience, Jim stated, "You put your life in their hands and it was absolutely fantastic." This event highlights the importance of inclusive opportunities that allow individuals with disabilities to engage in activities they once enjoyed, fostering a sense of empowerment and normalcy.
