Blackpool Teen Develops Navigation App for Visually Impaired

Eighteen-year-old Riley Burrell from Blackpool has created 'Echopath,' an app designed to assist blind and visually impaired individuals in navigating their surroundings more safely and independently. Drawing from his personal experiences with sight loss, Riley developed the app to reduce reliance on strangers for assistance. He stated, 'I’ve asked for help from people around me and they haven’t always been able to help me, so I wanted to make sure that people with visual impairments didn’t have to rely on strangers.'
