Be My Eyes announced on July 6, 2026, that its desktop tools are now available on macOS, closing a gap that Mac users in the blind and low vision community have been waiting on for years.
The announcement came at the National Federation of the Blind Annual Convention in Austin, Texas. Both Be My Eyes for Mac and Be My Eyes Workplace for macOS launched at the event, joining the company's existing Windows applications to give users AI-powered visual assistance no matter which desktop platform they use.
What's New for Individual Users
Be My Eyes for Mac extends the company's free Windows offering to Apple's desktop operating system. It gives blind and low vision users the ability to ask questions about what's on their screen and get contextual descriptions of digital content, all powered by AI.
Together, the Windows and macOS versions for personal use now make up what Be My Eyes calls Be My Eyes for Desktop. The Mac version is free, effective immediately.

Be My Eyes Workplace is also now available on macOS. This is the company's enterprise product, built for organizations that want to support blind and low vision employees on the job.
