Apple has launched the 8th-generation iPad Mini, offering a sleeker design and enhanced technology. This new model boasts an 8.5-inch OLED display, maintaining the device's compact footprint with bezels reduced by 24%. The design helps achieve an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, a first for the iPad line, thanks to a more integrated audio system.
Powering these enhancements is the A20 Pro chip, which Apple claims boosts AI performance by up to 4.5 times, graphics by 2.7 times, and overall speed by 60% compared to previous models. The N1 networking chip supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, while the C2 modem in cellular models promises data speeds up to 50% faster than before.
For those who rely on video calls and collaboration, the 12MP Center Stage front camera now resides on the landscape edge, improving usability for FaceTime. Furthermore, the Adaptive True Tone flash enhances photo quality and document scanning.
In line with its sustainability goals, Apple has created this iPad Mini with 35% recycled materials overall, including 100% recycled aluminum and cobalt. It’s manufactured using 40% renewable energy across the supply chain.
To complement the new device, Apple is offering a chic Smart Folio cover made with "TechWoven" fabric. The new iPad Mini, available in midnight and starlight finishes, starts at $699 and can be pre-ordered starting October 28, with shipping commencing on November 6.
